CONWAY – Freshman Kaitlin Beasley- Polko has been named the Madness Sun Belt Softball Player of the Week with her extraordinary efforts during this past week’s action. College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact on their team from each conference and on a national basis each week.
This past week, Beasley-Polko went 2-1, 0.41 era, three complete games with only one earned run given up. Her numbers were highlighted by a 14 strikeout performance against Kent State which is the second-highest in school history. Then the Maryland native followed it up Sunday against Robert Morris with ten strikeouts in a five inning complete game.
Beasely-Polko and the Chants resume their season on Friday as they host the Chanticleer Showdown with schools such as Georgetown, Saint Josephs and Pittsburgh.
