Greenville, SC – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, announced that they have completed a trade in conjunction with the Alaska Aces for forward Collin Valcourt. The Swamp Rabbits have acquired the left winger in exchange for future considerations. Valcourt joins the Swamp Rabbits ahead of a three-game weekend against South Carolina and Tulsa.

Valcourt signed with the Alaska Aces ahead of the 2016-17 season and played in the team’s season opener against the Colorado Eagles. Since then, Valcourt has been on injured reserve for the ensuing 29 games of the Aces’ schedule. However, the Red Deer, AB native finished last season with Alaska, playing in 37 games.

His 26 points (10G, 16A) ranked sixth on the team, while his +5 rating led the team. Six of Valcourt’s 10 goals were scored on the power play, which also led all Alaska skaters. Alaska signed Valcourt after he earned four assists in his first 11 ECHL games with the Quad City Mallards. Valcourt’s ECHL career totals consist of 40 GP, 30 PTS (10G, 20A) and 135 PIMs.

Greenville’s newest skater began his professional career following a four-year junior hockey career in the WHL. He skated one game in the AHL for the Abbotsford Heat in 2014. The 6-foot-2 skater then spent his rookie season in the Czech Republic, posting four points (2G, 2A) in 29 games.

Valcourt skated for three different teams in the WHL. While playing for the Spokane Chiefs, Saskatoon Blades, and Prince Albert Raiders, he skated in 266 games and collected 168 points (76G, 92A). Valcourt also served as alternate captain of the Blades at the start of the 2013-14 season.
