The South Carolina Gamecocks may have suffered a setback in Starkville, Mississippi Saturday night, but they continued their red hot pace on the recruiting trail today picking up a commitment from the state’s top prospect for the 2017 class, WR OrTre Smith (6’4″ 210lbs) from Wando High School (Mount Pleasant, SC).
Smith committed to the Gamecocks at a birthday ceremony where he revealed his decision via a commitment video which was shown.
The highly coveted WR picked the Gamecocks over his other finalists of Clemson, Georgia, and North Carolina.
In addition to his four finalists Smith had offers from other schools such as: Alabama, Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, NC State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.
