Well, Muschamp and staff took a big step forward in doing just that, when 2017 Loganville, GA defensive back Jamyest Williams (5′ 9″ 180lbs) committed to the Gamecocks today at a news conference televised by ESPN.
The Peach state prospect is considered by many to be a Top 100 level recruit in the nation, and one of the top 10 cornerbacks in the country.
Williams is an elite level athlete that the Gamecocks could use in multiple ways. While Williams was recruited as a cornerback, he possesses the ability to contribute at a high level on offense and special teams throughout his career in Columbia.
